My wife made me get a ROPS when i got the 422..sure am glad. I havent rolled but is sure does provide alot of protection in the woods. ;)
It's a great thing to have. I also have a home made cab on mine. It looks a little weird, but it has kept me from getting hit in the face a couple of times in the woods when moving large dead tree limbs.

The heavy grade lexan front window has taken a real beating on several occasions where the limb slipped off of the bucket or forks and fell back in my direction. I have a very small crack at the bottom where it was hit, nothing bad it has not gotten any larger.;)

Barry, do you take your cab off in the summer? A cab would sure be nice in the winter but without a/c seems like it would get pretty stuffy in there when it's hot out. Of course, it would be nice to keep the Hornets out while field mowing too. I hate running over those nests.

I thought I would be taking it off when the heat got really bad, but I just ended up taking the side windows out, and my floor boards also come out.

It's not bad at all. As a matter of fact, I made the extended over lapping roof to keep the rain / snow off the windows. I found it also works pretty well as a sun shade. I even bought an electric fan for inside, but I haven’t needed to hook it up.

Don't think I would want to run over a nest of bees, and have them trapped inside with me that might hurt.

I did run over a nest with the riding mower a few years back. When I got stung I drove it back, and put the spinning deck over the nest intrance. I then jumped off and let it run full throttle for about ten minutes. Went back later that night poored gasoline into the hole along with powdered bug killer  :)

My wife is from Kenewick. We now live in Woodland. Trying to get upwind of a bad situation, although her dad used to work at the reservation...

And then, in a terrible twist of fate, a race of super bees ruled the world for the next thousand years.
