Ford 1210 tear down and repair

/ Ford 1210 tear down and repair #181
Previously in this thread, don't remember where or who, someone said they got something from a tractor salvage yard in Kentucky.
Who ever that was, would you mind sharing the name and location?

I don't really need anything but, I've never visited a salvage yard I didn't find something I wanted to take home. Most likely, I simply didn't realize I needed it (whatever it was). ;)

Both of these places were recommended to me from Messicks when they didn’t have nos parts. Happy hunting :)

Thanks for sharing that information. While I don't have any real needs at this point, that doesn't matter, we all know that eventually, we're all going to need something.

Very interesting post! Nice work on the restore!
My first tractor was a 79 Ford 1100 4wd. I borrowed it from my Wife's cousin for almost two years before he decided to sell it. I put out feelers for a bigger tractor and ended up with a JD2555 (70 HP). I destroyed almost all of my implements before I managed to find heavier ones for the bigger tractor. I had a friend that needed the Ford 1100, so it got sold. He used it for a couple years, and I bought it back. I used it for a couple years, and a friend in west Florida needed it, so I sold it again. A couple months ago he downsized and told me to come get it, as it was not running. I went over, jumped it off and it ran, so I didn't feel taking it as a non running tractor was right, so he said give him $500 which made both of us happy. The salt air near the beach took it's toll on the ole girl, but I am hopeful that she will go back to keeping me happy again with what it does.
When I sold it the second time, the muffler was about gone, along with the rear turf tires. I picked up a set of tires and rims for it at a salvage yard and took them with me when I went to deliver the tractor. While I was looking around the junkyard, I spotted a 1210 with a nice muffler, so for $60 I bought it, and although it looked the same, it wasn't. I built an adapter out of a block of steel to make it work. Saved a fortune for the new owner.
I have intentions of picking up a finish mower to use behind the Ford 1100 and put it back to work.
The seat is gone, the dash is almost eat up with rust and the front two piece rims need replacing due to the lip of the rim being rusted away. I really don't want to have to weld and shape them back into shape...

Got a few filters changed today.

The cover for the hyd filter removed. There was an o-ring on the cover plate that I did not see in the parts manual. Anyone have a part number for me?

The old and new filter side by side. You can see all the trash in the old one.

Did you ever find the part number for the o-ring on the filter cover?
I also see that you were able to find a replacement hydraulic filter. I've got the part number as SBA340500340. I can't find one anywhere. Did you use a different filter? and where did you get it?

Thanks

I never did find an o ring for it, but mine didn’t leak so I just reused the old one.

The filter I believe I got from Messicks, but I can’t be certain, it’s been awhile.

The 1210 has been running great (Knock on wood) and I’ve been using it with a cosmo rotary spreader to spread fertilizer, lime, and bug granules on my lawn. I will be brush hogging with it soon too once I get my forested areas cleaned up.

My o-ring was in really bad shape after splitting the tractor - this is what I used and it seems like a perfect fit:

M2x65 Viton O-Ring, 75A Durometer, Round, Black, Viton, 65 mm ID, 69 mm OD, 2 mm Width
