Thanks gang, appreciate the info..

Will take a look at the options and see which best fits. Maybe Momma will win the lottery and I can buy a new 4WD tractor :)

Best I can hope for is this last snow will be a one time event, it's starting to melt and we are suppose to get into the 70's next week.

You guys luck out most of the time down there. I am running out of places to stack snow where I am in Upstate NY. I only use the Farmall cub for light snows but it is layed up with a worn-out clutch right now. I just got in from digging out the fire hydrant up by the road with the loader on my JD 4120 (4wd). That tractor, with loaded R1 rears, no chains, will move mountains of snow up-hill or down using the back blade or front loader. It sure has gotten use this winter.

chains yes, ballast yes.. wheel weights? sure if you can find them.

weight back on the rear with that loader up front is for sure needed.. and doubly so with snow and ice.

ps.. i'd love to get one of those factory 4wd 3000's ;)

I have used and still have a ford 3000 2wd since 1968, It has a front blade, wheel weights, loaded tires, chains, and in 2 feet of snow you will need a carry all full of wood on the back to get decent traction. A back blade is all but useless in that much snow. The same for the loader. The front blade was purchased by my father to keep a 1 mile dirt road open so the milk truck could come into the family dairy farm. Nothing can beat a front blade, but chains and weight on the back are the key.

If you can't afford all of that then at least get a carry all and load it down with cinder blocks on the back to give you more traction with the loader. Good Luck Willie Jones

Recently sold my 1968 Ford 2000. Used it 10 years to clear a 900' gravel drive in Michigan. It had chloride in the rears and DuoGrip chains for the Ag tires (13.6x24) and a York 7' rear blade. You couldn't stop it. The year I got the chains we had an unusual winter with 5' snow in December alone. I ran out of places to push it. In real deep snow reverse the blade and angle it and take partial cuts. Needless to say, I kept that old blade and use it behind my 5030 Kubota. Still need to sell the chains. Oh, by the way, chains and loaded tires can't be beat. Still may get chains for the Kubota, but time will tell if I need them with the all new Ag tires (rears beet juice) just installed.

You don't need to travel over the water...........they'll be more than happy to ship to you:)

But I gotta ask, did they even market the Ford 3000 4wd here in the states? The only listings I can find are overseas also.
