Ford 3000 diesel 3cyl losing prime when sat

Hi,

Just updating this thread if anyone wants it as a reference in the future.

My injection pump had severe pitting on the cam lobes, so was no repairable by me. I installed an exchange one from Sheaf Diesel Services in the UK and it works perfectly. Postage from Australia to the UK is much cheaper than to the US. And I let them know of the damage to the camshaft and they were ok with receiving it for exchange.

Happy tractor now.

For completeness if anyone uses this as a resource later...

Opened the injection pump and found the hardening on the cam lobes heavily worn/chipped away. I'm guessing the diesel in the pump sump is not s good lubricant. As a result I did an exchange on the pump with a company in the UK and it's running great 2 years later.
