Ford 3000 diesel leak problem

I have a ford 3000 with a leak of a drop of diesel per 20 seconds coming out of the unit where the throttle hooks up to, as well as a dead battery. I have not started it since winter started and the battery died, am I going to have trouble starting it up in the spring? The diesel leaks weather or not the tractor is running.

Where the throttle connects to? So your talking about the fuel injection pump? Thats what's leaking in the same way on my Massey

Yes, the unit where the throttle hooks up is where its leaking, but not exactly where the throttle hooks up to it, a different spot. I am concerned that between being out of diesel and having dead battery I might have trouble getting it started in the spring after I get that unit repaired and change the battery....

My 4500 leaks there as well as a couple other places. I just got in the habit of shutting the fuel off at the tank when I am done, and hang the key by the valve
so I dont forget to turn it back on.

My 3600 did this for a long time too. I took care of it like David Wayne and shut the fuel off at the tank. Never had any problems. I don't think it will make the tractor any harder to start.

It finally got bad enough for me to fix it. An o-ring leaks on one of the shafts. You have to take the top off the fuel injection pump and replace a couple of o-rings and the gasket. You don't have to take the pump off the tractor.
