yep.. I can get N units right at 1000-1200$.. NAA under 1800, and 00/01 series in the 2000$ range... and 3 cyl models from 2800-3400$... lots of units coming up fro sale... just no buyers...

Was at an estate auction a week ago. There was an N (gasser) that I walked past. One guy said "those old tractors won't do any work". I kind of took exception and said that it depended on what you asked it to do. For sure it wouldn't be doing anything that required significant hp, but would make a good tractor to keep your property brush-hogged. His buddy thought it would go for $2000. I told him probably closer to $800. We were standing behind it and the auctioneer assistant got on it and I moved to the side. Told the guy I was talking to that he might want to get out from behind it as well. Sure enough, the auction guy started it up, put it in gear and it jumped back about 2 feet.

Auctioneer tried to start bidding at $2000, everyone chuckled and it finally brought $775.

You guys are depressing me! I have no need for my Ford 3000 any more and have it in good shape ready to sell. If I can't get any more than $3000 for it, I'll just paint it up pretty and drive it in parades.

i'd get the parade map ready.. 3000's are going alll day for 2800 and it's dropping daily..

i bought mine a year ago at the igh price of 3100$.. could get one with a loader and mower for that $ now. maybee even a trailer and BB if the person is hurting..

I guess it's a good thing that I have several paint guns. I'm going to give it a little time to sell first. The ones I've seen for sale around here have been priced at $4,500 to $4,800, but they were for sale, not SOLD.

If I have to paint it, that's not all bad either. For the most part it has straight sheet metal, only needing some rust patching in the lower fenders. Also just a little body work on the upper grille shell. They sure are pretty when painted in blue and gray.

Turns out this purchase was not a great one. The fuel pump needs rebuilt or replaced because the "cam and lifters are shot". The previous owners ran the pump dry of oil. Of course me being new to tractors didn't know any better until it was too late. The shop in Greenville MS wants $950 to repair the pump and $139.50 for the injectors. Total $1089.50 for everything. Is there anyway around this high price? Its a Inline Simms/Minimec Pump. Why does it cost so much to rebuild? Parts? Labor? Help me understand this better. Is the cam a one-off machined part? Thanks.

You can buy a re-manufactured pump for $961 at Hy-Capacity. Ken Sweet
