Pull the kill cable out when you do this. You don't want to have the engine start and have a "decent spray" come out if one does come out or you may be showered in oil.
Yeah.. I planned on doing that... "planned"...
I finally had time to tinker with it. Double checked the pump shaft. Tight & turns the motor over. No shavings at the splines at the back of the pump.
So I assumed the pump was good. The next thing in the line was the auxiliary valve. It's a valve sitting on the outside right of the tractor that would use quick connects for something like a side street brush or whatever? After that aux valve, it goes into the lift/bucket valve.
"Planned"
I disconnected the supply hose to that aux valve. Put the hose into a sleeve to a bucket. Fired up the tractor, but forgot to keep the shutoff pulled. VROOOOM.. it fired up and hyd fluid shot everywhere. Good news, it has pressure. Bad news, 2 bags of Oil Dri used up.
I unhooked the input pressure side on that aux valve and went to the local Parker store to get a fitting to connect that input hose to the input of the lift/bucket valve. I bypassed the aux valve.
It's working now. It was that aux valve that controls misc quick change implements on the side of the tractor. (Its previous life was a highway construction tractor)
As far as this aux valve. I'll never use it. May as well trash it?
Anyway.. I really appreciate the help and advice here. I wanted to give you a follow-up on the adventure.
Thanks!!!
