Simms pumps on 3000's not 4000's.
To tell whether it is a 4000 or 3000, wet, inboard brakes on 4000, dry outboard shoe brakes on 3000.
Engine serial number (not very important is stamped in smooth area on RH side of block center just above oil pan.
What is the model number on the RH boss above the starter? Date code and serial number located there too.
Looks like seized #3 from overheating.

it's kinda obvious that you havn't read the thread in it's entirety.

the fact that a 3000 engine can live in a 4000 chassis is the issue. just iding wet brakes don't tell him the engine.. but that's already been sorted out.. :)

My response was off of an email alert and it did not refresh to current status, but at that point it was unknown as to what engine he had other than the Simms pump which was unique to 3000, 5000 and 7000 tractors. Your quote "i'm mostly a 39-64 ford guy... could date an earlier block for ya.", told me that a little more information could help.
Yes, brakes do help determine quickly what model you are dealing with as 4000's used wet brakes. And yes, the engine could have been swapped/updated so that it could have a 175, 183, 192 or 201 3 cylinder. The serial number on the block ledge tells which engine it started out to be by the first letter in the serial number.
The block 'casting' number, C7NN6015, says by the C7NN prefix that it was designed in 1967 as a tractor engine. The 6015 base number says that it is an engine block. That base number is common for any Ford block.
After seeing the latest picture of the oil filter tells that it is most likely the original engine.

Yes, brakes do help determine quickly what model you are dealing with .

brakes tell you nothing about what engine is physically installed in a machine at the moment.

brakes tell you what it rolled out of the factory with. not what it has 30+ years later... thus the other id questions that were posed.

looking at my 1955 ford 950 trans bellhousing and rear axle won't tell you what carb it has on it right now.. it will tell you what carb it could have had when it left the factory... the fact that it has a NAA carb on it now means it ws changed from oem by someone later after it rolled out of the factory.. :) that's my point....

I'm mostly a 39-64 guy.. I'm not 100% devoid of any information at the stroke of 12:01 jan1 1965 models... ;)

And no sorry I never got ur email soundly the oil light wasn't working but I did however get it figured out it was bored .020 over stock which is 4.2 so it was 4.220 so they bored to 4.230 so I bout pistons rings crank all bearings and seals and said **** with it spent 834 dollars on it and now I'm in the process of waiting haha but it was a 175 and also a 3000 do you know about the timing at all on these tractors

not much past what i could read you out of a manual. prior engines iv'e been into.. 3 cyls.. not so much.

O ok thanks and that's right tractor tech I remember now my only question is I don't see the dots you were talking about they r on the gears correct

Yes. They are towards the edge by the teeth on the face. 1 dot on crank gear. 3 on idler. 1 on can gear. The injection gear sometimes has a number 3 and number 4 if it newer as to whether you are timing a 3 or 4 cylinder engine.
