Ha..Ha and have them tell you it's the wrong colour and a little rusty.....You could buy a lot of parts with what they will charge..?

Fantastic tractor...One of fords best .

Well, I took my 7710-II to my New Holland dealer immediately after I bought it and had them go over it and hook it to the dyno. Didn't cost me a thing and they showed me a few items to keep an eye on also.

Sn and other ID numbers is on the flat of the bellhousing aft of the starter. Ford REALLY liked this location.. started using it mid 1953 and up.

Well i have to give the ford dealers her credit....They are getting better.
And i worked for NH in the early 90's as a mechanic (in england) and there is no way you would get anything for free...A dyno was $100 .
I stand corrected ..You have a good branch..or you are well connected?
Although coming to canada from england the ford dealerships are bigger and more impressive do not seem to provide the same service as uk ones and i know for sure they would not inspect a tractor for free .
..About $400..?
I'm not questioning your knowledge robert but our "blue dealers" are not the best ....And they may be better a little south...Our dealers may vary but with almost 50 fords under my belt I know the "BLUEPAINT"....HaHa

Thanks for the SN# tip, I've got an '85...

Started to paint it this week, will probably get it done tomorrow. It's going to look SOOOO much better, especially since I'm doing it myself and not spending $2,000 like I was quoted

Finished the whole cab tonight, this was halfway through...

All the panels are painted, they were a mess before...

Went down to a place in hillsboro, tx yesterday and bought a 9' disc, it's yellow so I might just have to paint it blue....:D

I've got a few questions after working on it for a few days.

Where should I be able to find the serial number? I'm trying to figure out what year it is.

I'm replacing the interior with the kit from K & M Manufacturing - Your source for tractor seats & accessories. which is going to look great. One problem I have right now is there is a bunch of left over adhesive/foam from the old stuff that is pretty much caked on. I talked to a guy at k and m, he said use a wire brush. I was wondering if someone knew of a solvent or something I might be able to use to loosen up the adhesive?

I've changed out all of the fluids, replaced filters, and removed the sweeper. Everything so far has been pretty easy...except removing the seat, that thing had to weigh about 150#...wasn't very fun by myself.

As far as removing the old adhesive, get yourself a right angle die grinder and some Scotchbrite Roloc discs, and go to town... you'll have it all cleaned off in about 10 minutes or less! Such a handy little air tool to have... if you could only have 1 air tool, that would be the one to pick.

Is your 7710 the straight 8 speed, or does it have DualPower? Our 6610 was an 85 model as well if I remember correctly, with DualPower. Great tractor!! I spent a LOT of hours in it mowing alfalfa.

I like the 3m discs.. but really.. any good flex abrasive is great. I'm using one to de-paint my fenders on an old ford 951 i'm working on..

And here's the finished product, I am so glad it's not yellow anymore. The decals make a HUGE difference.

Wow!!! Lookin' Sharp!!! Great job! Now you just need to get rid of that exhaust and get it back to a vertical, and it will be done ;)

You said you put it on the dyno, how did it do?? Did it make rated HP?

I didn't put it on the dyno, it was suggested that I do. I might do it later on but I've got to plant my field soon.

Few more pictures.
