ford 845 diesel?

just bought what the former owner owner said is an 845 ford tractor. can't find any info on this model with diesel engine. any info?

Look for the model number on the left side of the tractor on the flat surface above and behind the starter. If it is a 4 speed, what you will find is model 841.

8= utility wide front tractor with 172 cid engine
4= 4 speed
1= 1958 - 1962

After 1958 diesel was an option. Yours should say 841-D. The D suffix is for diesel. Check it out and post back what you find. I bet the previous owner just thought the 1 looked like a 5 (easy to do). The only two numbers that could be in that column are 0 or 1. 0 means 57 or older, and diesel wasn't available until 58.
