To be honest, I don't recall the last time I put fuel in the L60A, it has to be at least 6 years ago. I always use Power Service (grey bottle) in my tractors/pickup, so it would have the same treated fuel. I started it up yesterday and (as always) it started on one pull. I am thinking of running it out of fuel and then adding fresh treated fuel. In the back of my mind, I think I ran it out of fuel for the same reason (to clean it out) when I bought it off of Craigslist used probably 15 years ago. If I need to bleed injectors, I need to bleed, no big deal.

It sounds as if your fuel regime agrees with your L60.

Have you considered draining the fuel tank, and then putting the fuel hose in a bottle of SeaFoam or PowerKlean, and running that into the engine, and then putting the fuel hose back on the tank?

FWIW: If you have renewable diesel where you are, it is more stable than the ULSD floating around.

All the best,

Peter

Running it until it stops doesn’t remove all the fuel from system. The engine shuts down when air enters the injection pump which is not compressible and the engine stops, the line from injection pump to injector is still full of fuel. The presence of air in system (oxygen) could allow corrosion. I would suggest filling with fresh treated fuel running it then shutting it down.
As others have mentioned diesels have set for years with no preparation & been fine.

Hello my friends and helpers, finally i found time to dissasemble the engine.
Here are the results
Afer nearly two years of reassembly the engine is running fine. we bought a new piston which hat a bit to much compression. We milled down the piston a few 1/100 and it runs great. thank you for your help
