Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I think the rest of this is still connected to the tractor or at least, it looks that way to me.
If something still looks wrong, please let me know. thanks!
You got lucky , you seem to have all the major parts, be sure when reassembling to safety wire upper section to lower section (across adjustable center section) so it can not unscrew again (my preferred method if adjuster is not connected on one end) ....

I usually lose and never find the most expensive and hardest to find and replace parts.....

I will have some more pictures tonight.
Today I am grateful to have terrific dealer.
I have found 4 things missing (one is the top linkage to the 3 point PTO) He called and said he would take care of anything I was missing.

You need to perform a "root cause" analysis on this failure.
Hey Workinonit,

I did. And as usual, operator error. I assumed it was all there. I tried to look behind the backhoe but just didn't know enough to know stuff was missing. Sad to be so ignorant but I am getting free lessons!

Yes, that is the upper part of what you found on the ground. You even still have the jam nut on the upper portion.
Personally, I would remove this and the Left side one (most likely a fixed length). I suspect the lower lift arms were removed with the backhoe install.

Everyone here has been great. Thanks all for the diagrams.

I have taken about 30 pictures all over the tractor and I think you are all correct, I think it is all there.
I will remove these items in the morning before heading back home for the weekend.

Looks like you are well on your way for some good times , just be careful in the process .

I have to go look for the pellet spinner target I mowed over twice yesterday before realizing I hadn't just hit a rock. It's nice to get lucky and find a lost something that's still usable but I'm not getting my hopes up this time. If I can't spot something in better light I'll get out the floor magnet. Wheel height is already set for lawn use.

Greetings everyone,

My first post and of course, it comes with a question.

I just bought a used tractor with 80 hours on the clock.

(Mehindra 2638 with FEL and backhoe)

After adding 4 hours on it, I found this on the ground and hoping someone will know what it is.
It's about 10" long. Opposite end has internal threads and hoping it is something for the 3 pont hitch.

Just a note about how i came to this sight.

I have some land, Covid-forced-retirememt, and needed something to keep me busy.

I know just enough to know the old saying, "He who is self-taught, has a fool for a master". So I have been reading posts on this site for a couple of weeks now.

I have operated a skid steer and a backhoe but very limited. So I am moving slow as I get to know how it all works. I pushed a couple of tree tops down a slop (10 degrees and moves the logs to one side), cleared some small brush and samplings in a 7 x 30 ft area to try out the backhoe. I finished by digging on a slop with the hopes of making a temp. flat surface for my RV to sit while I play, I mean work.

Thanks to the many who have shared info here for others to follow and learn.

Root Cause
That is the top adjustable link on my John Deere, When I'm not using the 3 point connection, I secure all components so that they will not come off.

Welcome to the forum. I lost my favorite pair of pitching shoes one fall. Found them the next spring with the core aerator. They were both sticking straight up out of the ground and I couldn't figure out what the heck they were from the tractor seat. A little sanding and some paint and they were as good as new.
