There rake bar rotation is ground driven from the front wheels. To keep rake bar rotating while turning a corner front wheels are in fixed position and rear wheels caster. This is a late model has rubber tires. Dad's John Deere model was steel wheels.
Yes, when I was a kid, we had an old side delivery rake like that with the steel wheels.
I'm also thinking it might of also had a steel "tractor" seat (pan) on it, perhaps once pulled by horses?
