Friend’s 9-year old daughter in surgery after stray dog attack.

The dog is a Pitbull mix.

Who would have guessed..

The mom had left the garage door up for visitors. Guests enter their home thru the garage and mud room. The dog CAME IN THE HOUSE and attacked the girl in the mud room. The mother and a guest lady literally choked the dog off the child and the mother carried the thrashing biting dog to the door and threw it outside. The muscles in the child’s left leg are ‘shredded’. Don’t know if she will ever walk properly again.

The dog is a Pitbull mix and was collared but no name or tag.

Wow! Was the dog captured or located?

I'm sure sometimes it is but it's a problem one way or another..

Breeds can be either way. My Dad had a golden that was a miserable SOB. Turns out, so was one of his parents.
I've met plenty of friendly pit bulls so there's a point where I have to blame people.
Some dogs shouldn't be bred. That's on humans for the most part.

That little girl is lucky. It could have been far worse.

That’s grounds for immediate termination for that animal. Glad the girl is okay.

I was mauled by a dog at about the same age. Bit my thigh, my hand, my arm and my shoulder. Still have the scars. It’s definitely scary at a young age like that. That dog was also terminated.

It would go a long way if penalty for attack was makeing certain BOTH, owner and dog was never able to breed again.
