i assure you that i am indeed a real person....i usually spend my time over at YTMAG.com and smokstak. both because i am an antique collector. my newest tractor is a 1986 JD. last time i counted i had over two dozen tractors with about half in use on a cattle farm (we don't have ranches in virginia). the only backhoe i have is a JCB 1400, but i do have a pel job mini excavator. . i teach at a community college in NC and have a co-worker that has the ck. i have not talked to him today, but will, he indicated that it broke under the steering column. that it looks to be a "dry" drivetrain area. (so i was kinda guessing a bellhouseing). he describes that the tractor made a loud poping sound. and that he feels that if he put the bucket in the ground and did a break out, the tractor would pull into two seperate parts. and yes the frame or sub frame (i have seen his rig on a trailer, but did not look at in detail and don't remember how the backhoe was attached) is the only thing that is physically holding the front to the back. i will post photos when i get a few and if i'm smart enough to post them.

anyway,,,Fellows i'm real, he's real, and his problem is real real.

Thanks Fellows

I haven't been on here very long but I've read just about everything that involves CK25's and haven't read anything like this. I imagine anyone that can help is going to have to know a few things. What exactly was he doing when it popped, for one. Does he see any obvious physical damage under the tractor? Can the tractor move? I know it's not always possible to get pictures to post, but before anybody can help, they'll need to know more. This is a pretty uncommon occurrence, as near as I can tell. Your friend is breaking new ground (among other things) and everybody here would really like to know what happened. Some just out of curiosity, some so they can keep it from happening to them and a lot so they can pass on what is figured out here.

WOW! A friend of mine who is real hard on equipment built his own short sub frame for his prarie dog hoe on his New Holland and broke the tractor case at the transmission and did some serious damage to the range shift part of the tranny as well. Mucho bucks. I think the case alone was over a grand.

This is a strange post.I have be around equipment most of my life and never heard of this happening. With the Kioti sub frame i don't see how this could happen. With a 3 pt if the bolts are loose between the transmission and engine or thamsmission and rear ect. it could come apart if they are not checked and thightened. I would really like to see some pictures. I had a ford 8n with a 3 pt backhoe and this almost happened to me because of the strain in the rear to transmission case when pushing the limits and I let a friend use it.BAD MISTAKE.

really,,,,,, i've heard of several cases of people placing loaders with no subframe on tractors and breaking them.....i SEEN a tractor broken when the new owner placed a shipping chain across the transmission and binding down on it. anyway the owner of the ck told me this afternoon that he would take pictures for me (if the dealer had not picked up the tractor)

Thanks for your patience and input, people tend to get a little restless when they hear these kinds of things, myself included. We will wait and watch diligently.

Perhaps not as dramatic as my title but here are the photos showing the "drive casting" broken along the entire parimeter.

you're right something is not right here. you're right something is strange here. perhaps it will be 2012 when i come back. the truth is that this site is for newer equipment than i can't afford,,,so i don't spend much time here...but wanted some help on a problem...

sorry could not help myself...

the dealer indicated that they would warrenty repair the tractor. but scorded the owner for abusing the tractor....(he was diging in clayey soil) he has a photo of the hole that the bucket is setting in.

the dealer also said that the tractor must be sitting on all tires at all times while digging, not elevated to level with the outriggers/front bucket,,,Have any of you heard this before?

That's pretty ugly. I know Rick does a lot of "consulting/customer relations" with the factory guys. I'd be interested in hearing their take on this. Not that I am suggesting abuse in anyway but simply as a Kioti owner I'd be interested in hearing the "why" and "how" of the failure.
