Front axle fluid level low

My Massey sub compact says to fill till fluid is half way up on horizontal axles shaft.... Being how its designed that covers all the moving parts and bearings....

Also keep in mind it's going to probably take more the you would guess because once it is full enough fluid will go across axle housing to fill side opposite filler plug....

Again, I use hypoid oil simply because it has superior shock load capability than hydraulic fluid does and in my case, I need the better shock load capabilities. My Kubota's are getting old and no issue using it.. Now my F series mower uses SUDT because the axle and trans are integral but the back axle which is FWA gets hypoid oil again.

Still curious as how the poster in the other thread destroyed his mower drive shaft. Looks to me to be indestructible so long as it greased regularly.

I was always of the understanding that heat made the oil dark.
