Hi Folks
I have a NX4510 and bought a snow blade for the front end, just wondering if anyone has applied front weights to their tractor because when the snow is heavy while plowing sometimes the tractor slides to the left or right opposite to the angle especially when going up hill and feels like I don't have enough power to break through. Anyone having any ideas would be appreciated. Just getting ready for next year. Thanks

I have a sub compact Massey and had the same problems. I put v bar chains on the rear and chains on the front and that made a big difference. Then I added weight to the back and that made a big difference too. I was plowing up a medium grade and forgot to put it in 4x4. Never heard of anyone putting weight on front. Hope this helps. Ed

Agree with Ed, I use chains on all four, Loaded rear tires, rear ballast added for heavier snows, and I drive up hill through the snow and plow downhill. I learned a long time ago it is very tough to plow up hill. If you can find or make front wheel weights they would also help.

I have a smaller kubota and 2 link v-bars solved my same problem that you are having. No additional weight necessary. R-4 tires as well.

Do you find the chains wear your tires etc.? and where did you purchase and how much. Thanks

No noticeable wear to speak of. No problems to speak of either and I have had the chains on there for 6+ years. I believe I got them from tirechains.com but I don't remember for sure. They are well worth the money! I did make a subframe for the plow and the chains would rub on that at full turn but with that subframe off, they didn't touch anywhere.

I got mine at Tirechains.com as well. the quality was very good and the price was way cheaper than any other place I found. Don't remember the $$ amount but I saved over $100 over local. Ed
