Yea thats generally what I'm looking for. I have an old 18hp rider that gets all the dirty work and want to build something quick attach possibly even 12 volt. Got all winter to play.

I saw a 12Volt string trimmer at one of the shows I attended, darned if I can remember who it was though. It attached the the side of your mower deck and was operated by a foot switch. Spring loaded as well. Anyone else remember seeing this?

Have a Gordons Setter with liver problems that somewhat may be related to spraying so I'm going to try and cut back on it.

My 16HP riding weed wacker

Here's a fence trimmer I build from a large wheel gas powered string trimmer. It clips on to the mower deck mounts with two pins in about a minute. The original had a 6HP engine, so I geared it up a little and usually cut at about half throttle. The mower height lever raises and lowers it, although it could use more range than the mowers 4 inches. Sure does cut great though. It's spring loaded and pivots around fence posts.

I let it stick out far enough to trim ditches without getting the tractor too close. It needs more vertical articulation, so I think I'll add another hinge so it can float along the ground better.
