Frost Hook

FWIW, the buckets from my old BH90 fit my BH92 with no problem. The dealer told me all buckets are interchangeable between the 90 and 92 models. I assume the same would be true for a ripper.

It makes sense that the buckets on the 90 and 92 are interchangeable, but I've looked up Kubota's part numbers and they are different. I'm not too worried about it right now but when I determine I could use one then I'll get serious about finding one that will work.

Reading thru this reminds me of a project I helped design back in the 70's- a big restaurant, located in the Midwest. Construction started in Jan. A very cold Jan., at that. A blacktop parking lot was torn up for the foundation work. A big Caterpillar with a nasty looking single toothed hook ripped into it. You could see the frozen earth clearly, and it went down 49"! Truly a frost hook!

Still nothing back from Bro-Tec. I'll let you know when I get something.

varmit,
I lived just south of GreenBay, WI for many years, the winters there could be brutal. The frost hook on the back of a big Cat had to be impressive.

I got a reply back from Bro-Tec. Not much real info because of the Holidays. More to follow as soon as I get more info.

I got the trencher for but the price it ain't much so I suggest you save your money. Like I said for digging stumps you'd be better off with a tooth that has teeth and a cutting edge like the Talon from BX expanded. The cutting edge would really help tear through the roots. I'm pretty sure they'd make you one with the same dimensions you'd be sending BroTek. The BroTek is very dull and it doesn't do much with tree roots. Backhoe Ripper

They offered to add teeth at no extra charge. I asked for the teeth to be added. Thanks for your feedback.
