Fuel additives that are formulated for biodiesel may actually be composed of some glycerin compounds. Glycerin has a high pour point. For example, many biodiesel fuels will cause cold filter plugging at temperatures as high as 40*F. Generally, the "freezing" you describe is actually an increase in viscosity. Some additves may be forced out of solution. The advice to warm the bottle and shake it up is valid.

If that freezing was an increase in viscocity...I'm thinking I'd need the equivalent of a volcano's heat to thaw it out.:D It was rock solid hard. When I tapped the bottle on the table, it sounded like I was using a rock. It did liquify finally after sitting in the house for a day. Gave it a good shake and now it seems ok to use.

Thanks for your input, as well as thank you everyone else who replied. I hated to think I had to throw out a $20 bottle full of this stuff.
