Yep, this has been noted before. I used to be concerned, but now I just watch the hour meter and add 5 gallons (approx) every 5 hours. Not particularly accurate, but so far haven't run her dry.

David

I like your method :D but I won't be able to let this go. As I'm sure many of us did, I bought new to avoid problems. I understand when and expect things to fail, it is part of owning/using machinery. I do not accept that it's a faulty part of the machine and it can't be fixed. I didn't spend the kind of money I did for "almost works".

I had a 15+ year old grey market Kubota before this one and it's fuel gage was deadly accurate. Hope I can expect the same out of my new machine!

I just bought a CK25 the dealer told me the fuel gauge was not to accurate,he is correct:mad:, When I fill up the tank at the end of the day,the gauge still shows 1/4 full. However the next morning it reads full and will continue to read full until there is appox 2 gallons of fuel left, than it drops to 1/4 full. Its not a big deal for us as we full up all our machinery at the end of the day, however I agree that something as simple as a fuel gauge should work properly.

Other than that I am more than happy with the tractor we use it in our landscaping business with either the back hoe on or the wood chipper, just rolled up 57 hours today, not to bad for 3 weeks.:D

I have a CK25. My fuel gauge seems to work as expected: Shows full when I fill it up and gradually drops as I use it. This would say that it can be made right.

Don't know what the fundamental cause of failure is, exactly. But, it might just be workmanship that depends on the assembler at the factory.

Your under warranty, right? So, make the dealer fix it.

I agree, they can and should work.

When My fuel guage shows empty, I put 5 gal in and it's full to the brim. Been that way since day one.
Seems to only work between 5-10 gal..

Dealer says he'll fix it, but lordy, he's a long way away...

Replaced the sending unit and all is well. (I thought I should update this since I'm pointing to this thread in another one!)

In 06 VICTORW posted info on re-bending the float arm to help with this
problem. I was too lazy to take my sender out a 2nd time and do the fix.
Guess what? The problem pretty much fixed itself. My guage is now useful,
if not accurate.
