After following this thread...thanks for sharing to all...I now gotta get me one of those fancy digital game cams.

What do you folks think about Cuddeback digital game cams.

Would it be wise to spend the extra $$'s for No Flash model.

Charles,

Great pics. Was that realy a poacher? I'm suprised that you got a picture of him and he didn't steal your camera!!!!

What are you using in your food plots? The deer and turkeys sure do like it!!!

Thanks for the great pictures.

Eddie,

Best I can tell it was a poacher. I had a caretaker living there and he won't admit to it being him. He's gone now so it might have been him.

I have a feeder very close and around the feeder I plant a clover deer mix. The camera really gets them. I caught my neighbors riding 3-Wheelers, hiking and some people I don't know running around the property. The CamTrakker cameras I have mount in a bracket that accepts HD cable locks. So far no one has tried to take them or damage them. (Knock on Wood)

Back when I was using a film CamTrakker I thought someone was messing around my barn so I put it on a tree close to the barn and aimed it at the barn. I did get some shots of two guys walking around the barn (never did find out who they are) but what was too cool came next. A nice buck walked between my camera and the barn (less than 30') several times during the month.

I have the Cuddeback camera. The nodel that I have is a couple of years old now(three I think). Haven't had any issues up until recently. Don't know why, but the flash isn't working so well anymore. Might be something with the batteries. The overall experience with the Cuddeback has been very good. The trigger speed is really fast compared with other cameras. The No Flash model also interests me, I have been thinking of getting a new one. I don't think the does and young bucks mind the flash, but I think the bigger ones don't like the flash = fewer pics of big bucks. You can overcome the slower trigger speed of some cameras by putting a little feed on the ground where you want the animal to stop, but then you have to replace this feed over and over again, then contaminating the area over and over again. Just my two cents.

Oh yeah, I caught two dogs that don't belong in my backyard on the camera. Still haven't figured out who they belong to yet.

Here's a few pictures from last night. Steph and I shined the spotlight out the backdoor and saw clubfoot a little after 11pm. We actually saw the flash going off as the game cam took his picture. Our back door is 200 yards from this feeder.

There was a picture in our Sunday paper of two gentlmen carrying off a deer stand. Apparently, they stole someone's stand, but didn't steal his game cam. The stand/camera owner turned the photo into the DNR. They contacted local authorities, the two guys carrying the deer stand were identified through Crime Stoppers and arrested. Aint' technology sweet? :D They got a pretty stiff sentance, too. YIKES!

Here's a link to the story with picture, but it will only be good for a couple days.

I checked the game cam this morning and had 219 pictures on it!!! Allot of them are parts of the hogs, but there are still allot of good shots. They don't seem bothered by it at all and of these two, each is spending a few hours there feeding.

The first one was there at 7:33 pm, which is just after dark, but the earliest we've recorded them in a very long time. It was Clubfoot, but he didn't stay long and none of the pics were all that great. Then Bigboy showed up for quite awhile. After he left, Clubfoot came back.

I wonder if they wonder off far, or if they sort of wait for each other to finish.

The mud is really fresh on Bigboy in that picture, but he wasn't muddy in earlier pics, so I'm thinking of taking a walk to see where he got muddy. My small pond is just off to the side of our home, and probably 150 yards from the feeder. Of course, after the last rains, there's mud holes all over the place!!!
