Garage door opener frequencies and technology. Need some help?

Using that 318mhz reciever, how do those work with codes or whatnot? Does it "learn" the code from my remote? similar to programming the remote to the door? or will any 318mhz signal activate that reciever regardless of code?

I would assume it is similar to the universal one I have for my Genie system. It has a button you push, a red LED flashes, you then push the transmitter button you want it to 'learn', the LED changed to solid red, you push the transmitter button once more, and the door/gate operates. (Same procedure on the door openers)

BUT you might want to do some research on that particular one to make SURE it will work that way.....or find another (Google) that will. Probably going to the company website would be the best, or call them.
