Garage heater

   / Garage heater #51
Modine has been around forever, have seen them in countless number of shops. The good thing about ceiling mounted heaters is that they are safer in shops because gasoline fumes are heavy ier than air. Less chance of ignition. When I use the torpedo heater it's just outside of the overhead door (propped up a foot or two.), I'm kind of super cautious.

I'm in the planning stage for a 28 x 54 insulated shop inside my 54 x 72 pole barn, in north central Iowa. Radiant floor heat is too expensive. I'm going with hanging propane heaters. Mr. Heater or Modine Hot Dawg. I'm leaning towards the Modine. All the Internet calculators size it to need 55k btu. I'm thinking of one 75k or two 45k units. Anybody have experience with using these?

The OP's torpedo's are NOT a good option to use. Noisy and stinky!!

I made the switch to propane heaters in the barn and my garage, I wont go back to any other. Have the small radiant heaters for the barn, for garage I Fill my 100 gallon tank in the summer for $70, and point my buddy heater anywhere I am. No smell, and simple.
