The last 5 years, I kept a little 8 X 10 raised garden (tomatoes, cukes, not much more. I would like to have a bigger garden this year, maybe 25 X 50? The location where I can get water is not very big due to trees and fence. I have a Ford tractor, ford 2 bottom plow, disk, spring tooth, etc. But, they are burried in the back of the machine shed... I do have a middle buster "V" that I can get easy, a 5' pull disc setting in the yard that works great. Can I use the "V" buster to dig dirt, disk with the Kubota and maybe till with my ford tiller (5 HP) and then plant? Looking to cut my fresh vegie bill in half!

I used a middle buster to plow a friends garden about the same size as what you want to do. I had the bush hog on at the time a did not want to go home and get the turning plow. He had a middle buster and disc. The middle buster tends to leave a strip of unplowed ground. What I did was plow with the middle buster, disc, then plowed with the middle buster again but this time going across the oppsite way and disc again. This was new ground and seem to work better this way.

Why not just till it with the tiller to start with? I have a 5HP rear tine tiller that I use to bust up sod and to till my garden. Garden is 24 x 60 or so. Once you get it tilled the first time, it is easy after that.
