Grub, not even sure, it's from Agri-Supply here in Raleigh.
BTW, I'll be up there in Greyson Co Va. next week hunting near WVa.

pekabu, that's my waterstove. We just put up that little shed up a few years ago and I thought it would be just for a year or two, so it's 4 cedar posts. We heat our house with that waterstove about 200' to the house.

My "boss" wants those dirt hills to hide the barn some and planted with lots of flowers. We'll see...

I got the 8 main holes re-dug out today with the 14" auger. And got most of the water out of the other holes.
Here's a pic of the front right twin hole.

Gary, it looks like you are off to a good start. How hard is your ground to dig holes in? It looks like a lot of small limestone rocks. With all your pine trees, I did't expect to see soil with so much calcium. Don't pines normally like acid soils? Hmm... Also, what happens when it rains really hard? Will the water drain around the barn or come flowing through it? When I bought my property, there was a small barn and the floor turned into a river when it rained. I had to build some mounds of dirt on the high side to redirect the water flow.

Keep us updated on your progress. It looks like you are going to have some fun with this project. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Well, it's looking good, but if I'm reading right . . . you first posted the start of this project nearly 3 years ago, and in your first post, mentioned something about playing with the dirt for 2 years before that????? Is this project going to be completed by you, or by that new boy?:D

Bird, well that a very funny idea, because for the last 2 years we've been calling it JW's(my 5yo) barn, becasue about the time it'll be done he's the one that it'll be for.

But since I have no help, except for a few extra hands for very rare times. I put all the floor joists up all by myself, cut each one to a custom length, laddered them up there and power nailed each in place. Took the better part of a year for just that.

Great to see your back at it!!!

Why did you put truss's on your endwalls? Why not just frame up your walls to the roofline?

Hello, can anyone provide me with some ideas for installing my ribbed metal roofing?
I've got the purlins up and have gotten a few of the 13.5'x36" panels up, but I've been doing it by sitting on the purlins and reaching across the panels to screw them down. Now getting near the end I'm not going to have the purlins to sit on.

Should I use a ladder or something to lay down on the panel and secure it from tyhe oppisite side of the roof? Any ideas?
thanks
gary
