I've fabricated a lot of fuel tanks and radiator overflow tanks that had to pass pressure test. We always put backing gas on them-that is why I asked. Just seemed to reduce the chance of leaks to almost zero. Used 1/16 x 309 filler rod. Just thought I'd pass this on.Yeah, us hobbyist need all the practice we can get.![]()
No backing gas, if it was stainless steel I would have purge the tank.
I used 1/16-inch E80S filler. I welded the outside first, of the bottom, sides, and ends. Then welded the
inside. I just welded the outside of the top. I really lucked out, not one leak!
