What do you guys do for any thing more than 5 gallon cans? I wanna get something bigger but seems most things are rated for diesel and not gasoline. I was thinking of something like these. Amazon.com
I have two of these. One for gas, one for diesel. What do you guys do for any thing more than 5 gallon cans? I wanna get something bigger but seems most things are rated for diesel and not gasoline. I was thinking of something like these. Amazon.com
- When filling a container, always place the container on the ground.
- Never fill a container when it is in a trunk, in the bed of a truck, in a trailer, boat, utility vehicle, or on top of a vehicle.
So maybe I could get a diesel tank and change out the pump rated for gas?On mine its the pump itself. Its not rated for volatility of gas.
I use a ratchet strap to hold the drum in place in my pickup until I get it home. I have a 2x10x16' "ramp" that I use to slide the drum onto a roll-around dolly. If you're going to store it outside, then I'd put it up on some sort of platform, like a pallet, or 2x's to keep it off of the soil/gravel.When you guys are filling these larger containers from the bed of your truck do you mess around with any kind of ground strap?
I do have a tractor with forks so the weight is no problem. Maybe I’m overthinking it but I don’t wanna blow up at the gas station lol.
I was going through this myself. I contacted 3 local fire departments. One had no recommendation, and the other 2 said do what the manufacturer recommends (which is NOT fill in the bed of a truck) so I am still using 5 gal cans on the ground. Sucks. When you guys are filling these larger containers from the bed of your truck do you mess around with any kind of ground strap?

Same here, I have both strapped to a pallet to fork them in and out of my truck after filling.
