I carry a 2000 lb electric winch. The connector is coiled inside the engine compartment. For some reason I tend to use the come along when I get stuck.
I did use the 4 in 1 to push out of an area recently. As you open it that action can be used to push you back. If course it will drop what you are carrying. The side crabbing sound like a good idea. I have not really tried that.
