Gator vs. Mule vs. Ranger

/ Gator vs. Mule vs. Ranger #61
Yea this really wasn't an apples to apples comparison. They compared 10k models to 5k models and they compared 25 hp models to 11 hp models and 4 wheel systems to 6 wheel systems. They only went by the type of brakes and not stopping distance itself. Also the Gator DOES have wet disc brakes and as far as braking dist. Gator was tops in another study. Gator relies on the big beefy tires for suspension which hauls just as much payload as the others do. No doubt the Polaris is the best of all three but I don't think there's much diff. between Kaw. and Gator. Lastly what really makes me wonder about their test is how can a 6 year old girl go full blast on one of them and not make it tip or even bring one wheel off the ground but they routinely did? One thing you can't fault the Gator on is it's stability. You would be hard pressed to roll it over.

i have had both and would buy another mule before buying a another gator 1) the mule goes substantially faster and if you are driiving on dirt roads/lanes it saves alot of time 2) the gator sucks in snow because you lose steering in deeper snow with no front wheel drive especially if you carry a load in the bed that further cuts back on you front axle weight. I haul 65 gallon water tanks in the winter to the livestock and i would never get there with the gator 3) the roll cage on the mule allows many more options in terms of lighting, hanging, carrying, and holding on. I have extra lights on the side above the cab that are essential for driving along the fence and looking for new babies, etc. add a small generator and you can light up the front range 4) lots of tire and lift kits available through ESSEX and put big tires on the mule and you approach serious self abuse 5) the kawasaki diesel is great and no problems so far, lots of problems with overheating on the gator due to goofy placement of radiator and water pump problems 6) plastic on the gator cracked easily in cold weater 7) the mule is more steel and easier to work on 8) i could go on, also new diesel mule out this year, its worth it.
