GC2310,
Has anyone been able to buy the NAPA/Wix hydraulic filter that was alleged to be made for our tractors?

I believe it was to be Napa Gold #400361.

Nothing that has been officially crossed by Napa or wix.

Edit: there are cross references for fuel, air and oil filters at Napa and wix

There was a discussion earlier this year, where it was supposed to be in development.

They don't list the MF GC with Wix as a viable candidate. I'm sure there are numerous filters that would fit but the proper function is what I question. If it was as easy as also listing a MF GC for the filter I gotta believe they would have done that already.

Honest question: For as infrequent (generally) as we need to change the hydro filters, what is the heartburn against buying the AGCO filter? When I reached my 1st change interval, I just went to my dealer and bought 2. So I only need to go back to them every 500 hours or so. Even at full MSRP is it not cheap insurance to have the right filter size, quality, filtration media?

Most are probably looking for a better price. The OEM filter is, like all MF parts overpriced. Even if you only buy it occasionally, it's still a rip off.

The rest are looking for availability. Many are not close to a MF dealer. Getting it at NAPA can be a lot easier.

Yes, we know we can order it from some places online.

Thank you for that perspective. I understand it is not cheap (compared to wix/napa etc), but is low use case the only reason that there is NOT an equivalent.

To expand/confirm points on this. Price is more than just the item and, by itself, isn't worth crying over. However, When a company makes it difficult to find a cross reference and I still need to drive 1 1/2 hours with the cost of fuel and drain on time for a non-optimally priced filter its that much more expensive and quite inconvenient besides.

Philosophically it's an affront to modern progress and commerce. I don't put AC Delco filters on my Chevy truck... I use whatever my trusted service station has. I know I need 5w-30 semi synthetic motor oil for my truck that meets a listed set of standards cause my owners manual tells me so but my tractors manual only mentions their own brand of oil and doesn't list the standards required for non-AGCO oils. I'd use a Wix or Napa gold because I can visit countless auto parts locations before arriving to my MF dealership. Heck...I can go-to 3 Kubota dealers and 5 or 6 JD dealers and pay less before I come to my nearest MF dealership.

For me, it's more about principal of the matter than the cost.
