Check out the pics I posted (post #115 of this thread on pg 11). You can look through the cutout in the floor and see the latch engagement.
I've been following this thread from the beginning and glad to see that you ended up with a new tractor, Wacky. Ten years from now when you're still enjoying that new tractor, that $2500 won't be important anymore.
What will happen to your "old" tractor? Will it be sold by the dealer as a "rebuilt" tractor or just a used one. I sure hope that anyone who buys it is aware of it's history and the dealer discloses everything. It would be really nice if they would point any potential buyer to this thread but I doubt that will happen.
For the record; not long ago I was on my 2310tlb driving up a neighbors paved driveway which is pretty steep. He happen to meet me as he was leaving so I stopped next to his car to talk to him for a minute and the "parking" brake was useless. At that steep grade, the brake would not hold the tractor. I had to to keep a little forward pressure on the hydro pedal to keep it from rolling backwards. I can only imagine what would happen if someone had pulled up in a similar situation and turned the tractor off to talk.![]()
They shouldn't be glazed since as soon as you start to move with the tractor while the brake is on, the brakes squeal loudly.
I've never heard of a "wet disc" brake system squealing (unless the fluid medium was low)...news to me.
