I would expect that it is simply snow or ice packing into that wheel and shoving the valve stem around and in.
Your metal one will resist a bit more till it gives up.
You could add some angle iron or round tube protectors to your rims.
I doubt that your wheel had the wrong size stem in it from the factory, there are a few different sizes in use.

got my GC2410 in 2010 (gping on 9 years of ownership) with turfs, 250 hours now. Never had a flat and never had to add air. My tractor is kept in a garage or shed but it still gets very cold. I use it to plow snow but not in a continuous long driveway but it does take me 3 hours to clean up, I also have a 60 inch snowblower and now chains. As long as the stem doesn't protrude outside of the tire area you should not bend it....alot of times my tire rims will fill up with snow so you can see the stem at all but I carefully clean the snow out once done with my gloves.
Make sure you clean out the interior part of the rim once done plowing as it will freeze and can unseat your bead-i have seen this happen with my neighbors Kubota BX23.
Lastly this is not normal going through valve stems like this unless you have a defect on the rim in that area. So I would next adjust how you operate your machine to avoid this.

This is

This is very puzzling. Over the years I have managed to tear a couple of valve stems on unseen obstructions but never had one end up intact inside the rim. And, to have that happen twice in a short time? All I can figure is that there is a misfit between the stem and the hole in the rim. Hope the metal threaded stem puts an end to this shenanigans.

Not that I ever tried but to push a valve stem with air pressure on the tire would be quite a feat. Something has to be pushing it in . Just never heard of valve stems falling in a wheel..? :confused3:

I think even gripping the valve stem with a pair of Vice-Grips and trying to push it into the rim would be nearly mission impossible. It must not have been installed properly and seated all the way. But twice? There are a lot of worse problems you could be having but this is a real nuisance and time waster.
