I will point out that I too have had a GC2300 from their first year. So early the common means of determining the year from the serial number doesn't apply!
Anyway, I have heard of many failures that just haven't materialized for me either. I think either the quality control has slipped, cheaper parts are being used, or something else. Only common failure I've noted is the wheels on my MMM were fracturing at the weld.
My tractor only has 350 hours on it and has been garaged continuously since I bought it new. Only warranty work was the rebuilding of the front axle because the dealer (now out of business, go figure) forgot to put any lube in it when they sold it to me. Dry as a bone.
