GC2300 Issues

   / GC2300 Issues #41
Thats not wright. I know of several times MF found a problem, notified the customer and fixed the problem under warranty. Ive even seen a few cases when they did it when the tractor was out of warranty.

Wright?

This thread is specifically about the GC's, and I have owned one since the beginning.

There are several known defects including one, that as far as I am concerned, borders on consumer fraud because they knew the $3,000 defect existed, when they sold it to me.

No one has ever contacted me, (or anyone on this forum based on TBN posts), regarding repair or replacement of anything on my GC, which was made right in the middle or the run, from which we have seen multiple machines with these factory defects.

Does that mean it never happened? No, but the results here, are a pretty good indicator of how they have handled these problems.

If your referring to them standing up when there was a problem with other equipment they sold, great. That has not been the case with me. For me, they just ran out the clock. Someday when it lets go, we will see how willing they are to make it RIGHT. If they do, I will be the first one to say they did.

Wow and im sure u know every thing that goes on with MF and the 2300. I personally can say I've seen them fix problems with this tractor before it even left my lot. I know for a fact they have called 4 of my customers and told them to bring their tractors in to be fixed on know problems, 2 of them were mufflers and the others had to do with the seat and something else. So yes MF does stand behind ALL their tractors and and yes they do contact their customers. That being said most of the time the contact is made threw the dealer. So if u were not contacted maybe it was the dealers fault and not MF themselves.

I guess your so eager to stand up for MF, you don't read what I have been writing.

I said, that I can't say it has never happened.

You can say that some of your customers were contacted. But, I can say, no one I know of, (and there are lots of us here in this forum), has ever reported that they were contacted by either the dealer, or MF, to repair a defect in advance, with the GC series. I guess it's possible they are keeping it a secret.

If there are dealers that are being asked, or told by MF to contact customers and repair defects, and your concerned about the brand, you need to tell the right people at MF that it's not happening in any great numbers.

It's 2012, we have the internet, so we have the advantage. We can share information, it's not like the good old days. We know when they know there is a defect.

Perhaps you can check on allworkandnoplay's phone call. He has a cracked muffler, and it's no secret there is a problem with them. That was a known defect when his machine was under warranty. Is he going to get a new one no charge? We would all like to see that. How about if you take care of it for him?

We are also still getting people coming on here, wanting to know why their tractor won't move, after their hydraulic pump shears. MF has had 6 or 7 years to step up, check the serial numbers, and contact the owners to take care of this known defect. Any idea when they will be getting around to that?

I also have a GC 2300 and have had numerous muffler problems and my fan has ripped through the radiator twice ......the motor mounts are broke on the right thus causing the motor to shift thus the radiator problems ,,ordered two motor mounts 23 $ and the shipping was 25 $ as we have no dealer In Houston ,imagine that Katy and Beaumont are closest dealer s ......
Yes grommets in steering are also gone from getting on/off ......seat has fell apart and put back by upholstery shop.

Hydraulic leak at control box they cant fix I had forklift repairman fix twice , over all a 14 carat P.O.S.....fuel shut off failed , did I say parts are very expensive and hard to find ??
This is one reason why this country is having to import everything

Ummm, the GC2300 tractor is imported from Japan by Iseki under the MF name. Only the BH and Loader impliments are made in US. Not sure about GC2300 but my GC2410 has been reliable. I used it to move, grade 320 yards of gravel, silt, sand and loam, tons of snow removal and alot of other things but I have not to date experienced any failures you have except the leak at the loader control box which I just ignore. How many hours? How long have you had it?

From my experience the issue always been with MF dealers (stealerships) most of them around here are former farmers who shouldnt sell new stuff cause they are morons. Agco has stood by me when no stealership did, even has a dealership say it was all in my head-Agco told them no I was right.

Good for you.

They will get the chance to do the same for me, when the defect they know they built my GC with, becomes a major failure.

So far, MF has made owners who are out of warranty, pay the labor, for fixing this egregious mistake. Which by the way, comes to a substantial amount of money, (thousands). That doesn't meet my definition of standing by anyone. While those who were lucky enough to have it fail while under warranty, got it taken care of, at no cost to them, what so ever.

I don't agree that these tractors are "junk". But, I also don't expect to have to pay for a mistake that they made.

They did once give me a free hat though.

Yes good for me :) You have your GC2310 for 9-10 years now yet it hasn't had that specific major failure yet. Must be a POS then no? I thought I was negative.

Yes you are negative. Especially, since I specifically said, "I don't agree the tractors are junk"

Yes, my tractor is not new. One of the many things you fail to realize is, that the problem has not materialized for me, because I don't use my tractor very much. Not because it doesn't actually happen.

Most of the failures I have seen were at 325-450 hours. I do not have that many hours yet.

Perhaps you think 325-450 hours is a fair amount of use. I think I speak for everyone who has had this happen, that they did expected their tractor to go further than that, before a major failure.

Had I put 500 hours on it during the warranty period, I would likely have this behind me. And they would have fixed their mistake. Sine I didn't, that shouldn't make it my problem.

You should go to work for them. They like to pretend this is no big deal too.
