Yes; if I understand the procedure correctly, if the cover's removed with the tranny horizontal, all the bearings & shafts sort of drop down, as that cover supports them all....

Best way is to have the tranny oriented so the cover's at the top before pulling. That's what requires the whole machine to be pulled apart.

if in front cover no need to take all what you did.. I took apart twice all bearings you can set in place and set cover in place just gotta make sure 2 levers … forks are in place...unless I missing something??

**** had issues blew o ring seal on top of hyd pump.. must have pinched it on assembly... **** lots oil loss.. but was able to get valve apart
without total upper body removal... all good now!!!!

I was wondering if that cover could safely be removed without removing the transmission, but didn't have enough experience to know for sure. Could have saved a LOT of time if it were possible.

lol cover can be removed safely.. … if any body needs to ask question during disassembly I am here.. made a mistake this time hydrostatic speed select lever fell out when assembled.. already sealed cover put pump and valve on before I noticed.... had to disassemble cover again... lol its done and working

Maybe old age; find I'm just not as interested in tackling machines as I used to be, and still have plenty to keep me busy. Of course, procrastination has always been a fine art in my case. Seem to be getting even better at it these days!

I think 2007 also.. was my brothers gave to my dad.. I am the mechanic..found that the hour meter is broke... says 480 hrs I write on filter date and hours which was whe I changed hyd pump..spur gear... lol 2012
go figure so do not know actual hours.. but will fix this weekend... sad not good upkeep... I am in the middle of 84 year old man,, lol will let you know on start up this weekend,,,,..

If the hour meter is not working, and not damaged, try reversing the leads. I know it wont work if the wires are reversed.
