GC2300 OEM Trans. Filter Skid Plate

Any word on this? My GC2310 did not come with the skid plate. I asked my dealer about it and he seemed to think one was available but did not offer much more than that. I am going to make one if it is not available for a reasonable price. I have some bush hoggin' to do. Any info would be helpful.

I had mine in for maintenance couple months ago and had the the filter guard installed. I don't recall what he charged.

It does make connecting/disconnecting the mid pto a little more difficult though.

I had mine installed before I took delivery of tractor. $85 installed. I wasn't going to quibble because I was getting a great price on the tractor. They are factory installed on the latest models. Some 2007's have them, some don't.

This isn't any different than any improvement that is made during a model run. They are changed and improved as the years pass for a model. A company can't be expected to retrofit improvements to older models. They would be doing nothing but retrofits in the dealers shops. MF could have been like Kubota on the BX and just ignored it. A skid plate to protect their plastic fan is only available after market and is $160.

I'm just glad the plate's available. Will order the kit next week
Not so much a design flaw as a design update.
My thought is that it's one more thing to remove for fluid service.
That or deal w/ the mess. Used to have that kind of fun w/ a previous P/U truck. Oil filter was foward of the front end cowling.

The filter shield does not have to be removed for filter service or to install the MMM. The side that faces forward is open.
