BOTH MACHINES ARE BEST.

The GC2310, in my humble opinion, has a better 3pt set up. But that is a fairly minor difference. Both are excellent machines. (by the way, I don't own either).

But, what you may want to do it base your choice on a few issues that will mean something to you.
1) Which dealer treats you better? (this is subjective, but you should feel comfortable with the dealer as he will support you for many years to come)
2) Which tractor is less expensive (given that they are essentially equal machines, the lower priced machine should be given some extra consideration).
3) Which tractor is more comfortable to you? (does the seat adjust enough, do the controls fall in a familiar spot, are they easy to reach, etc)

I could go on and say what my choice would be, or that I like brand X, but really it is up to you and which one you like better based on some of the above questions.

Thanks for the info, and I am doing the rounds, so far with my search I do agree with you that both machines are very impressive. Thanks again, from the great white north!

You may have already ruled these out, but John Deere's 2210 and the small frame New Hollands would be two other excellent tractors to consider in that size. You'll also get suggestions from Chineese and Korean tractor owners.

Good luck.

When you talk with both of the dealers arrange for them to bring the equiupment to your place and let you try it for a few days. This is the best way to see and feel how the equipment works. And it's done at your pace /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif.

Any dealer that is worth a darn will do this. Also as part of this have them go over the equipment with you and show you how to use it. Each one is different.

Good luck!

Boy, I guess I'd be out of the running if a two day demo is to be done. When we do know the people I might consider it but for someone to just walk in ask, sorry but I don't mean to sound hard but chances are that means a minimum of four hours of the helps time to deliver and review with the perspective owner and probably if you don't get the sale a unit with three to five hours that will be dirty to sell to someone else at an even greater discount! Been there done that, I'd like to stay in buisness! I will take a unit out and give an hour or two of free time but don't ask for days of it as any dealer who has been around and wants to has been abused more then enough. I've done that thinking good thoughts and lost enough. We for the most part stay with the units. We might sneak out for lunch or to visit someone else but no unlimited demos!

I'm afraid I'd have to agree with Art; just can't imagine a dealer delivering a new tractor to someone to try out for a few days, although apparently it is done by some dealers. If the potential buyer decides not to buy, how much will the dealer have to discount that "used" tractor to sell it to someone else? And while I know nothing about the various arrangements, I can't help but wonder about insurance on a new piece of equipment "loaned" to a potential customer.

I might could understand a dealer doing that with a used piece of equipment, but not new.

One would assume (and I hate to use that word) that you being the dealer has qualified your potential sale prior to anything happening with equipment. Having said that it is now your choice to do business the way you see fit. Whether that means doing demos or not, whatever works for you in the selling role.

In the consumer roll I stand by what I said about the demo. All three makes I looked at did this (Massey, New Holland, and John Deere). I got the equipment for a weekend with the implements that I was interested in buying. I put on maybe three to five hours of use each over that two day period. Some were demo units and some were new units. I had a feeling that the Massey and NH dealers knew I was close.

If you are going to spend this type of $$$ then you need to see how their equipment will work in your environment. If the selling dealer isn't willing to do that then you do have options...look elsewhere. For me this paid off. There was a big difference with me for these two machines. One was more comfortable and easier to operate in my environment. Want to guess which one won? It also gave me insight into how their customer care and service would work in the event that I purchased the equipment.

Ultimately each person has to create their own buying criteria. That is an individual choice. This was my choice and it worked for me.

Again my three cents....

Comparing apples to apples I would have to say the gc2310tlb is slightly ahead of bx23 when you compare both machines from their specs. And I will be trying both of them when I'm ready to buy.
