GEICO insurance

I have metlife and works fine. I know GEICO and some others are dislike by some Registries (state of CT). Don't know why either just know how they handle them in CT with a friend.

It is very hard to go by some posts since there is much more then your age with insurance (as we all know). I know MA is the highest and for the first 5 years, it does not matter where you go in this state and with whom. Nevermind age, race, where you life, college, etc etc.

A friend of mine is checking on Hartford ( for himself) through AARP.
I am not old enough for AARP. I might check with Hartford anyway. I have my insurance with " Farm Family" I have an estate policy and 2 of my vehicles are listed as business vehicles and the rates are great, but the one car is not listed as a business vehicle and it cost's twice as much to insure as the others and it is the oldest vehicle of the 3.

It is really hard to compare insurance, mine for 2 cars with coll. and all the other stuff , runs about $1200 a year, but i am retired and the wife only works part time so we don't drive much, but i might have to check them out, got to save a $ when you can, so i can pour it into the gas tank /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I got a quote through AARP from Hartford, but AAA offered me considerably lower premiums for the same coverage.

You get exactly what you pay for! All aftermarket parts, parts that are made in the third world. Mostly in China. They use parts that are certified by CAPA. We call them CRAPPER parts because that is what they are. Crap or junk parts. I rather use LKQ parts, these are parts off of a vehicle like you have. OEM parts. Paint caps. They tell the Collision Industry what they will pay for paint and material, generlly around $300.00 to $400.00. The repair shop my have well over $600.00 in material. Some shops charge the extra back to the customer, we have had to do this. Also in the state I live in they are suppose to give you diminish value. Always ask for diminish value.
They may try and use LKQ air bags in your car (I have not confirmed this). Do you think for one minute that in your right mind you would trust air bars from another wrecked vehicle to save YOUR LIFE? Also if you take your vehicle to repair shop and they take it to a dealer to have them (OEM or LKQ) they may not pay the dealers labor rate. You may have to pay difference.
BTW they will try to tell you that you have to go to their drive-in claims center. YOU DON'T HAVE TO. DON'T LET THEM PULL THIS ONE ON YOU. The choice to have your vehicle repaired at the shop of you choice is yours.
They also my not be willing to pay the prevailing labor rate, you may have to pay the balance.
If you have rental coverage it may not pay the full amount. Some Insurance Companies will pay $16.99 (+ or -). Do you think Enterprise will rent you a $35000.00 car for $16.99 a day. I think NOT.
Just my opinion. All the _ _ _ _ _ Insurance Companies may not be this bad, but I bet most are.

Isn't it funny how things work out?
Hartfod through AARP would be twice my GEICO premium.
