I see HF has come out with a new Predator Generator rated at 7.5Kwh and it's an inverter. List price is $1,800. And it's supposed to be able to run parallel.
linky
Any TBN'er got one or two and tested?

This would have been better to post in the Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck. With 1436+ posts, chances are SOMEONE has got to have one of these!

Other than the vids, got a linky to this on their website?

Looking on-line, there is talk of the H-F Predator line of engines being Honda clones. This would explain the lower dB noise overall.

Lifan makes many of the Predator engines, but not all of them. It's a company that been around for a few decades making gas powered motorcycles in Asia.
Engines | Lifan Power USA - Quality Power Equipment

And since this generator is a 149cc engine, it makes perfect sense because that is the exact size for any powerful motor scooter engine that is reliable these days.
Lifan Motorcycle: Product Range Made In China

Would I consider having one of these. Maybe since the 149cc engine parts are very interchangeable with the motor scooters and being readily available.

Lifan is rated as the BEST Honda cloned engines, mainly the GX200

So, the engine may be very reliable. Now the question is with the inverter. What's it have and who is the brains behind it all. ;)

I have the smaller one for 4 years now and it's been a gem.

No, if you want that to be the question start your own thread! :)
my question is

I have read extensively about the older HF Predator engined generators, I'm looking for TBN experience with the relatively NEW large (459cc) inverter "super quiet".
I think 2 of them (in parallel if needed) could easily run my entire household with judicious use of high draw equipment, such as a/c. And with the inverter I'd be less concerned about frying my electronics.

PSW is PSW. I do know that whomever makes them, Yamaha (Denso) holds the patent rights on the inverter head.

I'm more concerned about how well the actual current and recent production units of the unit work.
I've seen many instances of HF introducing something for a great price/performance than within a few years the quality goes down.

Or UP as well. I'll put my Icon Torque wrenches up against any made today for accuracy and repeatability and the cost about 1/3 of the comparable (Snap-On-MAC) wrenches.
