I'd have to differ to your knowledge on that (NH prices). I've never looked at New Holand. I think the Kubota and Deere machines would certainly be in the $50K range. I'm not sure about MF, probably near $40K for the MF481.

Hi and thanks for your suggestion on Ebay tractor. I also saw FarmPro 70HP cab for buy it now $17,995 & Foton 70HP Cab 4WD 70HP also Buy it Now $17,995. Tractors like Kama, Jinma, Eagle, Montana, Farmtrac, Worktrac are listed everywhere and I believe my research shows them to be Chinese manufactured. And everyone them are most likey fine machines. The EPA at the end of this year will go into effect on tractors over I believe 35HP. So I can see their postion of trying to sell low & move them out. Next year they want be able to import any of them without meeting EPA approvals. So how hard will it be for me to get parts, materials for that tractor if the manufacturer is not even making it anymore. Now I guess the question is do I feel comfortable spending $24,500 on this tractor?

I'm not trying to be a wise guy or offend anyone I just feel more comfortable going with a Brand Name that I have heard of before, and meet all USA guidelines.

Thanks

Good points...but where do you find information that says the EPA won't allow them to export Chinese tractors at the end of the year? As far as parts are concerned, I don't think there's an issue there. I own a 1992 Belarus 572 tractor that Belarus had to stop importing in the late 90's because the engine didn't meet EPA restrictions. I've been able to get any part I need to repair the tractor. As far as not make them anymore? They make these tractors for sale worldwide. I suspect they sell a lot of tractors elsewhere. The company that makes the tractor has I believe 6 seperate divisions Agriculture products is just 1 of the divisions.

If you can give me a link to the information concerning the EPA not allowing these tractors to be exported from China at the end of this year I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

I vote for the Deere 5205. Works for me. I've rode it hard since day one and believe its the most bang for the buck of what you listed, and I looked at all of them except the MF. I liked the fit and feel of the 5205 best and I liked the shift lever and loader control locations better on the Deere. I also own a small Kubota and I just don't like the shift lever between my legs. I like to be able to reach all the controls without having to bend or stretch.

It is simple, reliable and it is somewhat loud. If you want bells and whistles you can step up to the5X25 series for considerably more money. It all depends on what you want to do versus what you want to spend.

The information that I received on tractors over 40HP and higher NOT being able to Import to the USA came directly from those Dealers & Distributors of those machines. They told me that the EPA guidelines which went into effect, is a 7-year plan to comply and that this is the end of that 7th year (12-31-05). This information I received in Sept. last month, and most of these Dealers will not be getting any more containers with 40HP & higher this year or in the future until the manufacturer meets the EPA guide. Dealers that were selling these tractors will be selling tractors but 35HP and lower tractors will all they will be able to import starting in 2006.

Now that is what I have on the EPA news front.

I looked hard at some of these tractors and almost bought a
2005 Kama KM 554/ 50HP / 4WD / w/loader & Quick Att Bucket
for $13,995. And if I bought in SEPT dealer was going to reduce tractor by another $1,000. He only had two left and after that, no more.

I priced everyone of those tractors that I mentioned and everyone of the dealers said the same thing after this year thats it for the High HP, until manufacturers conform. Gee I asked myself why wait till the last day to conform ? Unless you don't want that market share, or just to expensive to conform. I feel for the dealer in this situation, trying to make a living and provide customer relations to customers.

Thanks

Looking thru the Heavy equipment trader.. I see similar new JD's in that hp range in the high 30's... and new NH in the high 20's low 30's... big difference.

My 3 year old 90hp NH was only 26k or so new....so?

Ok.. some specifics.. after only 5 minutes of looking I have found a nh dealer selling a new tl90, w/cab ac & heat.. and 52lw loader for 35K$ Found a JD that has cab/ac/ 4wd, 90 hp, and had a loader for 39K$

So.. like I said.. I don't see the 50K$ to 75K$ 'minimums' you speak of. ( sure.. you can find 50k units with those features.. but you can also find lower $ untis with those features.. easilly.. ) As I have pointed out with a minimal effort.. you can get new, 'big 3' units with options.. like cab / ac/loader.. etc.. for more like 1.4X etc. Like I said.. that's a big difference.... between 35/40k and 50K to 75k.

I imagine massef ferguson will be in the lower end of the price range that I found as well..

If you are hoping to keep it for a long time then brand and dealer make a difference. You need a company that is going to be there for you when you need parts. My John Deere dealer either has the parts I need in stock or gets them the morning of the next day /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif At my woods dealer it usually takes 2 weeks unless I special order and pay the shipping then it takes a week. The parts guys are a lot less familiar with the equipment so getting the right part has been harder. If the company goes out of business or drops support of your machine you have a nice boat anchor. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
