Getting into Fordson Majors

My father always wanted a Fordson Major Diesel tractor. Shortly after his passing, I came into one. From the Ford Yacht Club. I can understand why he was so enameled with them. They were laid out to easily work on. To a mechanical person, they are a candy store. Wish my Father was here to work on it with me.

The E27n I have was called a Major. ' Supose the name came first, then the different models came along as the years went by.

Sometimes I wish it had the Perkins four cylinder, but it runs fine as a gasoline engine.

I think both OEM engine choices were Ford: 220 ci diesel or 199 ci gasoline.
