I put the HST in "N" and then set the brake and when I rise off the seat the engine stalls. I want to get off the tractor to put on a chain on a log or change the direction of my rake on the back. How do I get off the tractor and not have to have the engine stall?

This happens to me on my B2620 sometimes. One of the safety interlock switches is still open.

You need the HST pedal in neutral and the pto to be off. Sometimes you think they are but one is still not in neutral. It doesn't take much of being in the wrong position to cause it.

Try tapping the pedal back and forth to get it more correctly in neutral.

On the pto lever, sometimes I find that I have nudged it out of neutral slightly. The pto is not on, but the interlock switch gets openned.

To determine which it is, after it shuts off, try starting the tractor without sitting down. It should not start until you get both safety interlocks in the right position. Wiggle one at a time wither starter key on, and it will be obvious to you which one it is, when it starts.

It is likely the HST pedal neutral sensor switch is a little off unless you have the PTO engaged. Try GPintheMitten suggestions to find the problem but before you start adjusting, make sure all the switches/levers that were suppose to be off were off, like PTO. You could have bumped it and even though it isn't turning, it could have opened the sensor.

This afternoon, I plowed snow and when I got off the tractor, it quit running. I had bumped the pto lever.

I never put my 2320 in neutral to get off and it never stalls.

Oh, and :welcome:

I don't understand exactly what you are saying. Is it hydrostatic? Doesn't it spring back into a neutral (neither forward nor backward) position when you take your foot off the pedal?

On mine when I get off as long as the HST pedal isn't depressed and the PTO isn't on it doesn't shut off. If the PTO is on and I want to get off (wood chipper) I pull the level under the seat to pop it up (I have the reversing seat, I think the standard one you just flip it forward). There's no requirement to put it in Neutral or to have the brake on. Odds are that your HST pedal isn't returning to neutral, which you can fix by greasing it (there's a zerk on the underside of the tractor on the mechanism). I grease mine every time I do the FEL.

I have the same problem from time to time on my B2320 . Regular greasing is imperative for sure . I also find that if I use my hand to lift the reverse heal pedal up it takes care of neutral centering . Problem happens more often in cold weather .

I refer to neutral as the position between H and M on the range shift lever located on the left hand fender. The OP wrote "I put the HST in "N" ", there is no "N" associated with the forward or reverse pedals.

I have a 2620 and used to have the same problem with engine shutdown when getting off the seat or when hitting bumps. Not to be unsafe but I finally wire-tied the seat safety down so it wouldn't shut off the engine. I know it's not as safe as Kubota and or our Feds want but.......
