Getting parts - how quickly?

Figure any machine shop could do the job, we have done it many times when cutting cylinders down for some applications, a cylinder shop could do it easily

It can take a LONG time if the part is not in current american stock. Very very long. It's like they need to accumulate enough backordered parts to fill a container before shipping to america.

Regular parts, in stock anywhere int he country can be a couple days.

They don't airfrieght stuff? We can get parts from Kubota's Japaneese warehouses in 3-4 days?

This isn't a Kubota, JD, or husaberg. I have had items sit on "backorder" for months.

Makes you proud to be a member of the "pack", doesn't it:eek: I wish I had done a little more research before I purchased:rolleyes:

It's an inconvenience that may or may not be temporary. Kioti has large warehouses and once they figure out which parts to keep stocked then maybe the "backorder" problem will go away.

I'm still proud to be a part of the pack and the parts availability issue has not become critical. Good dealers might even borrow a part from a yard tractor to keep you moving.

Neil just likes to point out that Kubota still does a couple of things better. He tries to keep us honest.

My dealer did just that last summer when I mysteriously bent the dipperstick cylinder rod into an "L" shape while pulling some small Poplar stumps:confused: As I mentioned in an earlier post, I'm not dissing the dealer;he has just so many resources, but the manufacturor seems not to care after the sale.

Kioti had a very good parts system when I first started.
They went thru alot of changes the next few years.
In the last year I have had no parts backordered except one just last week.
The parts are arriving right behind the others.
Thats pretty good.
I agree in the past they had some issues, this isn't the case now.
I'm sure stuff will get backordered even now......it happens with all of them.
I know some brands have a system that they can tie into and grab parts from other dealers in the company is out of stock.
This helps immensely.
I'm sure Kioti will have this down the road.

Patches: The Bent Dipperstick cylinder rod can happen to any of them.
Check out some of the other boards and do a on it search.
It happens when the stick is pulled close against the hoe.
Usually seems to happen when doing small stuff, from what I've read.

BTI; Thanks for the tip; I had no idea how I managed to mangle that rod working no harder than I was. I was watching the bucket, which was bound-up in the hole among the roots, and when I finally extracted it: Voila. Your explaination makes sense to me:D
