John Deere 3032E
I just bought a brand new John Deere 3032E diesel and noticed there are pink spots in various locations on the snow where I have run the tractor. I just got it back from the shop and they said they couldn't find a diesel leak. Believe the hydrolic fluid is a different color so ruled that out. Anyone else have this problem or ideas where the diesel may be leaking??

:welcome:

Running through a few field mice? :D

Seriously, what about anti-freeze?

Only when operating, or when parked too?

Must be some evidence where it runs off. or not?

Is it on the left side, or the right side, or in the middle?

Under load or just moving about?

I think the JD hyd fluid is red, at least the JD hyd fluid I use in my 790 is red. So, if you got some small drops of it here and there, that's what I would suspect..... ESPECIALLY if your radiator coolant is the green type. If the coolant also happens to be red, then it could still be either one.

If you park it in a covered shed or a garage at night, I would get a roll of the large white wrapping paper and lay it underneath the tractor at night. If there are any leaks, it should show up on the paper. Good luck!

Kebo, I am unaware of any JD fluids with a red color. Perhaps you are mistaken.

Rick, I assume you are using off road diesel. Make sure your fuel bowl is tight. I did a quick search for tech bulletins on that tractor. Nothing reported at this time.

Mine was doing the same thing and come to find out it was some coating on the front wheels. Grab a handful of snow and rub it against the inner front tire sidewall, especially on the exhaust side where the snow seems to melt. I know it sounds crazy but that was my issue.

If it is off road diesel or k1 you should be able to smell it.

The hydro oil that came with my 790 when bought new was red.

The oil I bought from them to do my first change was clear.

I had the same thing happen with my New Holland. I have yet to figure it out. Pink spots in the snow I was pushing. I was leaning toward something they used to mount tires on rim. Not hydro fluid or diesel.

I'm going to check the inside tires in the morning and see if that is the cause. I'll post my findings. It makes sense since the pink was dehydrating quickly and no residue was left behind. Many thanks to all for taking your time to help.
