Getting too old to step up 22”

Not sure if all of the coatings are grippy when wet or not. Many here have done it and might be able to help better. I have not as yet.

Renze, I think the point was this was not a new tractor. He's had it a long time and made the step himself. Wasn't the dealer at all...

Grip tape comes in different grit types. It does wear and have to be maintained. I have used unrolled expanded metal and serrated bar grate or steps for more muddy situations.
Use step stool often for fueling and maintenance. Age related ergonomics is humbling, sometimes humorous and challenging. Several good modifications manufacturers should note.

$255.00 ??? Mine was made from boneyard supplies and a couple of hours of cut/fit/bolt. $0.00
Yeah, they are targeting a demographic with a deep love for their tractors and money to burn. They turned me against Kubota. If there is this much room for "mods" there is lots of room for improvement on the Kubota. I went with a Massey and need almost no mods. That said, a step of some custom design is coming soon...

The old broken folding ruler is just long enough to show the floor is 23 inches up from the ground on the Toolcat:

At my age now (82) I am very glad I put the steps on it when I did: trivial question about the step kit

Thank goodness - the M6040 comes with a step. My Ram 2500 Power Wagon came without a step. After my "first entry" embarrassment - I purchases a set of step rails the next day.

Yes, i read it back, and it was Scaredychicken (Not Ozerok) who said he had his dealer install a step at purchase, as opposed to buying a 255 dollar aftermarket step... 🤷‍♂️🙈🙈

Your step idea encouraged me to finish a project that I've been thinking about for a while. My LA302 loader frame had two 10mm holes which I tapped to 7/16-14 and welded up some angle iron to make a bolt on step on each side. It lowers the step height by about 8" and allows a second step to get up on the platform of my B7500. It's much more convenient than having to do it all in one step with my bad leg.

I added a second step for the same reason as everybody else, bum leg.
