In Texas, it's CHL (Concealed Handgun License). In about three more hours, it will change LTCH (License To Carry Handgun) which includes Open Carry. A new license is NOT required. Any holder of a CHL will be authorized to open carry, where permitted.

And no, my user name does not stand for Counter Clockwise. :) It's the initials of my company name.

Now, you really have to wonder what an "ordinary pocket knife is or a "hunting knife" for that matter.. Lawmakers are really really stupid people.

Agreed 100%.

Luckily our local LEOs don't harass you if you have a 2 blade buck or case a couple of inches long or a Swiss Army knife without a permit. Or if you have a Bowie knife on you. But yea they left way too much open for interpretation.

Some of the city cops in Louisville and Lexington have been known to harass over it though.

Here is the pocket knife I carry every day. Would it be legal?

Depends upon the attitude of the badge wearer if you will draw their attention, but generally any blade longer than the width of your palm is a concern to others.

Personally, I think the whole concept is BS since it is already illegal to attack someone in the first place.
Just enforce that part [the attack] and delete the rest of the criminal code.
Didn't Moses cover all this already ?

The Kentucky CCDW does allows you to carry an automatic knife if you want, before they were strictly illegal except for firemen, police, EMS, etc

Who knows. Really that's the best thing about our law. You don't actually know if you're breaking it or not. If that's your definition of a "normal pocket knife", then yea you should be legal. As long as the LEO agrees. I was just using a quick example anyways.

Nice knife by the way. I wouldn't have a problem carrying it.

I guess the knife would be a dagger or push blade. I have a dagger with a 6" symmetrical double edge blade. Have been told in the past that it was illegal to carry. Totally useless for anything but stabbing.

I am constantly surprised by the people in my area who do have a concealed carry license.
