Dargo, As good as Kioti is, Iwouldn't compare it to Lexus and I sure wouldnt say a Kubota is a Hyundai /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif.
My opinion is that Gamble post was a valid comparison of two tractors that the typical buyer would compare. believe me, the typical consumer that walks onto my lot typically says he wants x horsepower and how much is it. He hasn't read the book that tells him what is a compact tractor and what is a utility tractor and that it is against the law when considering one to consider the other.
Kubota has some low cost models and I know that is what I am up against. I even had a guy said that his Kubota had a "semi-shuttle" as he described it it sounded like a gear transmission with 2nd and Reverse lined up on the gearshift a(hey we have that on our chinese tractors and I didn't even know it!) and I was quoting 12x12 synchro shuttle.
In the trenches comparisons are made on a lot of levels. Currently if someone is looking at 45HP or 55hp, Kioti is limited in that they only have a "deluxe" tractor to offer, lots of features that you can buy for the price of the other guys tractor, that according to posters on this thread cannot even be compared.
I do agree with Bob, asking alot of questions instead of talking will help make sure he is aware of the features I offer that fit his needs.
It is obvious that some of these posts were designed to dig at some group of people (for example the Lexus Hyundai comparison). but boys will be boys.
One area where I feel extra weight on a tractor is benefitial is in loader work and unless I missed something that has not been mentioned. Most of my customers want a tractor to brush mow and move hay bales, perhaps a little digging now and then.
The point of the whole thing is there ARE differences in tractors and they are not yet a generic product, but our buying public does not always SEE the difference and unfortunately we as salespeople don't often do the best job of educating them before trying to close a sale.
Kubota makes a nice range of equipment, Kioti has a nice group of tractors as well, but if you had to find a Kioit to compete with the GL5030 it HAS to be the DK55 its what we have.
Now I wish I had brought my camera to the local farm show so I could compare a DK45 with a certain red 45hp tractor I saw, It was much less trator and for more money....
