Glow Plus Indicator Light

Today I went to start my TC45DA but the glow plug indicator light never came on through two separate starts.

Has anyone had the indicator bulb burn out? A bulb replacement would be a simple fix and I like that idea.

Did your tractor start as normal, like the glow plugs were working ok, you just didn't get the light?

When you turn the key on to start it did you hear the click after a few seconds of the glow plugs turning off before engaging the starter? If not, it may be more than the light. Looks like the bulb is pretty spendy from NH, if it is even still available. There are also a glow plug lamp relay and a glow plug lamp timer. Since Messick's doesn't have them in stock, may also be iffy on availability.

It started like the glow plugs had warmed the cylinders say in was below 50 degrees outside then.

I think I’ll try it this morning as it is about 41 degrees by now.

I usually turn my TC40DA on standing on the ground on the right side. I turn the key to ON to cycle the glow plugs. When I hear the distinctive click of the glow plugs going off, I turn the key again to engage the starter. I don't even look at the light.

I got my flow system working 100% one spring. By the end of summer the glow light quit..I just listen for the click now.

Unlikely the bulb is unique to NH or even unique to tractors. Try searching for 12 V bulbs on electrical and electronic sites.

Never had a bulb on the NH go but, did have a glow plug controller go out. Bottom right under steering wheel.

I've had several of the bulbs go out on my TC45D over the years, easy replacement, just remove the dash module. Bulbs are available at any auto parts store, just take one in and have them match it.
I also had the glow plug relay fail. It started with intermittent on/off cycles, sometimes wouldn't click on, sometimes wouldn't shut off. Bought a new one at my New Holland dealer, can't recall the price, probably expensive, but it is also an easy replacement and it fixed the problem.
