GM introduces Diesel off road pickup

I wore out my clutch packs in my last phord at 49,000 miles. Proabably because I actually used them a lot for plowing. I wwas left with a open rear. While they were wearing out, they only got very weak rotation from the wheel with traction, then none at all.

Purchase of a truck with a real locker solved that problem. :thumbsup:

So when you getting the real truck?:laughing: By the way, its Ford not Phord. I will assume your spell check did not work.:ashamed:

You may think that but I have not bought a Ford in nearly 6 years. I have in that time bought 2 GM's, Lexus, Toyota, and a Nissan. Do not see how that makes me Ford Blind as you say. My opinion is Ford has the best trucks for most folks needs. That was not the case when I bought my Titan 3 years ago for example so I passed up a Ford for the best product in my eyes.

Plain and simple, GM and Dodge trucks do nothing at all for me. Do not like the styling of the GM, the front suspension, and the interior. The Dodge just does not seem up to par with quality to me.

Yet now you enlighten me that everything you have bought for the past 6 years is everything but a Ford. So Ford trucks are second to none, but not the best for you. Huh?

I know just what I am saying. I would go out and buy a new truck today because I make it a rule to never buy anything its first year out. Right now I am plenty happy with my 2006 F-350 and my 2008 Nissan Titan. I know they will not last forever they way I work them so I go look at trucks monthly. Hands down the best 1/2 ton in my eyes on todays market is this 2011 F-150 with the 3.5L. I did not think Ford had the best truck in 08 when I was in a buying mood so I got the Titan.

Today in the 3/4 ton and up market the GM is impressive in the 2011 and up. Prior to that, no! I still think the edge is Ford right now having a better locker, proven chassis, better front axle arrangement, ect. Dont get me wrong, the GM is very interesting just no way in the world I will give that company another cent after robbing the taxpayers, suppliers, small automotive towns, ect. Dodge currently is not even on the map but maybe by 2012 they will be the truck to beat. Who knows.

I stand behind my statement that for the past 30 or so years Ford has overall had the best product. Thats why I have bought so many. I have tried Dodge and GM trucks and it just did not work out for me. Tough to make a living with a broken truck and so far the Fords have not let me or my family down.

I can read and do research. Just like I think the new GM 3/4 ton and up is a real winner I have yet to see one on a lot or in a driveway. Again, I said I would not buy one the first year out but if it pans out, which I am fairly certain it will, I will own a F-150 and replace my Titan.

While I will admit the Ford 6.0L was a black eye on the Powerstroke legacy times have changed. People do not have the disposable income to take a chance on something they do not fell confident in. I feel comfortable in thinking that Ford has done its research on this and the other 3 engines available in the truck. They can not make mistake at this time while they have the competition down.

So why would you want your Ford breatheren to go out and plunk down 55K on a truck with a diesel that hasn't seen ONE MILE of pavement behind the wheel of a consumer??? :confused2:

How do you know Ford can't, or won't, make a mistake??? The 6L was a big mistake, the 6.4 wasn't much better. Now you pin all your Ford dreams on an engine built by a company with about 1/100th the experience of International to build a grand slam homerun truck diesel? :laughing::laughing:

Preliminary tests already show it got hammered by a dependable, proven DMAX with less HP. I'd be crossing my fingers real hard for Ford right now.
